NBA forward Antoine Walker has bounced around to six teams and won the equivalent of the trade lottery when he played for the Miami Heat in 2005, winning an NBA Championship with the team less than a year later.
His luck in Vegas casinos hasn’t been as good. The Las Vegas District Attorney’s Office alleges Walker racked up about $1 million in debt to three casinos. According to the filings, Walker cut ten $100,000 checks to the casinos in exchange for markers. All of the checks were bad. He’s paid some of the money back but still owes $822,500 plus legal costs.
Walker was also charged with suspected drunk driving in Miami Beach back in January. He was traded from the Heat to the Timberwolves in 2007, before going to the Grizzlies in 2008. He’s currently a free agent.
