Miami clearly has a reputation as a hotbed of artistic talent, but our cuisine cred is pretty high too. The Food Network even chose South Beach as the location for its wine and food festival, a must-attend event for local foodies. Year after year, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival brings a multitude of celebrity chefs, including Rachael Ray, Emeril Lagasse, Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, and Guy Fieri. While some of us might be sick of Ray and Fieri, we are definitely not tired of eating and drinking, which makes the publication of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Cookbook: Recipes and Behind-the-Scenes Stories From America’s Hottest Chefs such a coup.
Lee Brian Schrager, founder and director of the festival, will talk food and sign copies of the tome at Books & Books this Tuesday at 8 p.m. Then follow him a couple of blocks west to Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack (1111 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach) for the afterparty, which begins at 9. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to spot Anthony Bourdain, who wrote the foreword for the book. Tickets include a copy of the book and admission to the afterparty, but you must RSVP.
