Former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke, whose thudding lower notes on The Queen is Dead even gave the dour Morrissey some pleasure, is now a thriving DJ at Manchester, England’s Xfm. His acumen for assembling a mix of influential songs spanning the years is impressive given that he must know that most songs he spins are probably worse than the material he created.

See if Rourke wears modesty on his sleeve or just puts “This Charming Man” on repeat when he gets behind the ones and twos for a set at Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach) Saturday evening for To Hell With Poverty night. Doors are at 9 p.m.
