Under dark clouds and a “monster-sized extraterrestrial spider looming over center field,” Florence Welch performed that catchy song from the Eat Pray Love trailer to close her opening set at last year’s U2 concert at Sun Life Stadium.

The boisterous reception following the final note of “Dog Days Are Over” left a lasting impression in Welch’s heart, one large enough to inspire a return to South Florida.

Yesterday, Florence and the Machine announced a 14-show tour extension. And on Wednesday, September 26, Ms. Welch and her eight backing musicians will play their first headlining show in South Florida at Sunrise’s BankAtlantic Center.
