Comedian and political provocateur Lewis Black, formerly of The Daily Show, says the kinds of things we all want to say — from comments on the devolution of our political prospects (“I believe in 12 years we’ll be voting for plants.”) to comments on home and holidays (“Americans are fat all year-round, but the holidays are when we really hit our stride. And you can bet the food we eat will be just as unhealthy as the families we’re forced to visit.”). Black’s stand-up is just as much an exercise in anger management as it is comedy routine. He articulates the mental breakdown we all deserve yet can’t indulge because we’re not rich, famous, or funny enough. But take solace in the fact that his angry musings give a voice to the disenchanted.
