Today marks the end of Funkshion Fashion Week, and if you’re like us, the sight of one more jutting collarbone is going to make you shove a turkey down someone’s throat. So tonight we’ll be front row in the tent at 10th Street and Ocean Drive for the Jockstarzz Fashion Show, where the football-field-inspired catwalk will overflow with muscle-bound NFL players. Not only because we love men’s fashion, but also because the “tight ends” we love football for have nothing to do with blocking.
Beginning at 10 p.m., we’ll be clapping politely while ogling stars such as Antwan Barnes of the Baltimore Ravens, Brandon Merriweather of the New England Patriots. This fashionably athletic event benefits the Kevin Everett Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the care of spinal cord injury patients. Everett founded the charity after sustaining a life-threatening injury in 2007 while playing with the Buffalo Bills, and was told he would never walk again. He beat the odds and will strut his stuff tonight.
