He kinda looks like him. He kinda talks like him. Their material is bound to occasionally overlap, seeing as they were raised in the same house in Bed-Stuy. But Tony Rock has worked hard to separate his comedic identity from that of his older brother, Chris. He has honed his skills before tough crowds on the stand-up circuit. On the strength of his material, he’s now a well-respected regular in world-famous clubs such as The Comic Strip in New York and The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. Rock made audiences roll as the lovelorn Dirk Black on the now-cancelled sitcom All of Us, and every week he holds down TV One’s The Funny Spot. Except this week. From this Thursday through Sunday, Rock will rock the mike at the Miami Improv with nightly shows at 8:30. This Friday he’ll also put on a late-night show at 10:45, and Saturday you can celebrate Valentine’s Day with him (and your date, obviously) over a romantic prix fixe dinner.
