If you didn’t make it to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival this past weekend but want to catch a glimpse of a celebrity chef, Emeril Lagasse is filming today at Tobacco Road.
The reason: an episode of his new show, The Originals With Emeril Lagasse, set to premiere in May on the Cooking Channel. He’ll travel across the country to visit iconic bars and restaurants. Established in 1912, Miami’s Tobacco Road is the city’s oldest bar, which makes it a perfect choice to be featured on the show.
Emeril is scheduled to film from noon to 8 p.m. today. Although the set will be closed, the Road will be open for lunch and dinner beginning at 11:30. Blues Band Big Poppa E will start jamming at 7 p.m., and Emeril is slated to film with the band.
No word yet whether he’ll get onstage and jam, but if the South Beach Wine & Food Festival was any indication, these chefs can pull surprises at any moment and you never know what will happen. With no cover charge, Tobacco Road is a great place to stop in for a burger, a beer, and a chance to see a legendary chef in action. Bam!
