It was a Monday night on South Beach, and John Q. was sitting in the back of O Asian Grill. The brim of his baseball cap was positioned just low enough so no one could see his eyes, yet high enough that he could keep watch over the entire room. The show had begun at 9:00 p.m., but it was now 10:30 and John had eaten nine California rolls. The waitress must have refreshed his bottle of sake seven times. Suddenly an overwhelming urge hit him. He muttered, “Need karaoke.” So Johnny boy made his way to the stage, insistent on performing Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.”

At any other club, two gigantic bodyguards might have wrestled his drunk ass to the ground, but tonight is Hong Kong Hustle, the latest hip event where you can get your karaoke on. Our boy John was too faded to get the words right, but he hit every one of the requisite high notes. Brutal to the audience, pure fun for John Q. Could you be John Q.? Have a drink and find out tonight at 9:00.
