Okay, we get it, Drake. You’re good looking. You give us those smoldering glances and tell us we’re the “best you ever had,” and we melt. But you may have pushed the wrong buttons, now.
The singer’s caused riots, controversies, lawsuits with Playboy, and now well, he’s just plain old starting rumors.
He spoke with Paper Magazine recently about his new album, getting back into acting and… playing Barack Obama?!
Drake — a.k.a. Aubrey Drake Graham — got his start acting on the TV
show Degrassi: The Next Generation, and sure, he’s “the best” a lot of
girls have “ever had,” but we’re not really sure if that should qualify
him for Presidential status.
He says,
I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could
play him. That’s the goal [laughs]. I watch all the addresses. Anytime
I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention
and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows
me, I’m pretty good at impressions. Slowly but surely, I’m not in the
study mode because nobody’s called me about anything, but I just pay
attention so when the day comes I’m not scrambling to learn how to
speak like him. I want to be involved in great film projects. I don’t
want to do the
basketball movie that everyone does. I don’t want to do the typical
black film that everyone expects. I think that I have enough experience
to actually be involved in a real meaty project full of substance.
We
get that every rapper/musician wants to be an actor, too, — we’re looking at you, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Beyonce — but is
Drake taking it a bit far? Can a 24-year-old really play a 49-year-old
President? We’re not sure if his acting skills could possibly be that good.
