During the January Second Saturday Art Walk Tennessee painter Jason Shawn Alexander has a solo exhibit at 101/exhibit in the Design District. In the past, he illustrated for Dark Horse Comics, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and Hasbro. For this exhibit, his paintings display the complexity of double exposure photographs. Grimacing figures emerge in sharp detail from chaotic blurred backgrounds. Also displayed at 101 are Jorge Santos’s paintings, in which nude angels loom outside drifters’ cars, and men in suits cradle bare-ass mail-order brides. Call 305-573-2101 or visit 101exhibit.com.
