Speeding motorcycle, let’s speed smart …
Because indie music legend Daniel Johnston just announced a very rare live show and installation of “original artwork” at Grand Central during Basel week.
UPDATE According to Poplife reps, “a dj set by Devendra Banhart” has just been added to Johnston’s show at GC.

Yes, Johnston is an kooky cult figure with a supremely quirky aesthetic. Yes, his catalogue of happy-sad, love- and death-obsessed songs is a lil’ uneven. And yes, he’s often forced to cancel shows “due to unforseen circumstances.”
Yes, he’s clinically bipolar and schizophrenic. And yes, he once almost killed his own father by crashing their two-man plane after tossing the keys out at peak altitude, because he thought he could fly like Casper the Friendly Ghost.
But in the opinion of Crossfade and Kurt Cobain, Johnston’s also total musical genius.
So … As Daniel might say: “Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go.”
