Ballet Gamonet

kicks off its third season tonight, and fans of passionate, emotional dance performances would be smart to buckle in for the ride. Artistic Director Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros and his troupe will present a company fave alongside a world-premiere piece by guest choreographer Jerry Opdenaker.Transtangos draws on the rich and complex legacy of tango, and Pan Nuit Suite, a series of short festive dances, takes place in “an enchanted forest populated by creatures that live to dance and celebrate life.” Hey, wait a minute — are we talking about South Beach or ballet? Gamonet’s neoclassical style merges color, form, and movement into a visually captivating performance. From a dance career that began at age 13, he rose to become a star choreographer at Miami City Ballet before founding his own company. His latest work — featuring displays of creative choreography and athletic grace — is sure to thrill the audience. Program One takes place tonight at 8:00. Sat., Oct. 27, 8 p.m., 2007
