Cuban ballerina Lorena Feijoo returns to south Florida this weekend, joining Cuban National Ballet alum and former Miami City Ballet dancer Rolando Sarabia in Marius Petipa’s production of Don Quixote.
The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami is presenting the performance this Saturday and Sunday (8 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively) at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater.
Feijoo, who trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba and has been a principal dancer with the San Francisco Ballet since 1999, starred in last year’s production of Alberto Alfonso’s Carmen.
Feijoo (Don Quixote) and Sarabia (Quixote’s love Dulcinea) are joined by 18 dancers from the Companhia Brasileira de Ballet, performing for the first time in Miami.
