When we first walked into Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, we were mesmerized by the stylish bar located in the back of the restaurant. The gleaming mirrors and glass, and the slick black counter and leather chairs had the right amount of swank without being pretentious. As we sat down, our bartender for the evening, Alessandro, showed us the drink menu — which included tempting elixirs such as a Melon Mint Martini and the Insolito, which combines Skyy vodka, strawberries, and basil. He suggested the slightly bitter Quattrino for the gentleman, and the sweeter Ginger Honey for the lady. Although the Quattrino might look girly with its pinkish hue, the mix of Aperol, Chardonnay Mila, Campari, and fresh Florida grapefruit juice is smooth with no cloying aftertaste. The pungent Ginger Honey (42 Below honey vodka, fresh ginger, and lemon) is refreshingly sweet with a slight tang. All of these tempting cocktails are served straight up in a martini glass and cost $12. Call 305-531-4833, or visit www.quattromiami.com.
