In a bit of top-shelf irony, the Diabetes Research Institute invites you to booze it up, but heck, it’s for a great cause. The sixteenth annual Feast Among the Grapes, held in cooperation with Wine Spectator magazine, claims to be the “hippest happy hour in town,” and there’s no doubt that palates will be pleased: South Florida’s top chefs will cook up mouthwatering nosh you can wash down with vintage domestic and imported wines, tequila shooters, champagne, pomegranate martinis, and Tommy Bahama Rum, a new designer liquor that will premiere exclusively at the event.
Sweet teeth can indulge in a chocolate dipping fountain but can also try desserts made with Zsweet, a sugar alternative. So toast to everyone’s health beginning at 8:00 tonight at the Radisson Hotel Miami. A Moroccan-theme afterparty, sponsored by the Rand Eye Institute, follows from 10:00 pm to midnight. General-admission tickets cost $100, $150 for VIP. Call 954-964-4040 for more information or to purchase tickets, and visit www.diabetesresearch.org.
