As you commute home and watch — for the fourth time — the skirt-sporting homeless man relieve himself along the Julia Tuttle Causeway, you might decide you are in dire need of some culture. For the 15th year, the Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Council has leaped to the rescue with its annual Mainly Mozart Festival.
Close your eyes as the Artenostra Quartet plays Divertimento, K. 136 in D major, and imagine a simpler time, when a bad commute was a horse with a lame foot. Try not to envision, however, that if Mozart were alive today, he would probably relieve himself along the Julia Tuttle — powdered wig and all. Take back civilization Sunday at the Westin Colonnade Hotel. The concert begins promptly at 4:30 p.m., and forthcoming performances will take place every Sunday at that time during May and June, culminating with a children’s concert June 29.
Sundays, 4:30 p.m. Starts: May 11. Continues through June 29, 2008
