The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay’s $31 million dollar renovation is nearing completion. When the dust settles next month, Catch Grill + Bar will be a gleaming new restaurant within, with glistening bay and marina views. The look promises to be that of a “sleek steakhouse,” but the menu will focus on locally caught seafood – “from lobster, stone crabs and oysters to Florida grouper and daily specials”. Other grill items will round out the menu, along with salads, flatbreads, and other contemporary American fare. Mixologists will muddle cocktails and pour fine wines and craft beers.
Guests will be able to cuddle up on the outdoor patio’s cushioned modular seating and enjoy dinner while enjoying the uniquely South Florida vista; they might alternatively choose to a sit at a long communal table. The indoor dining room includes wood tables, vintage ceiling fans, local art, and color-shifting glass panels that will morph the moods of the space accordingly.
Expressamante illy Café will also be opening off the Marriott lobby, although not until March. I’m not sure, but I have a feeling “expressamante” isn’t a real word.
