Other cities may think they know Latin jazz, but Miamians know that’s just some sad denial. The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana celebrates this special musical genre with Carnaval on the Mile, a Latin jazz fest packed with dozens of musicians, performances, and visual art. The mile walk will feature works by more than 120 artists, including fine art, sculptures, photography, crafts, and jewelry. The celebration will include three stages hosting 26 musical groups from across the nation, such as indie chamber orchestra Mother Falcon, folk and jazz artist Meklit, and Miami’s own Palo! Local restaurants will serve street grub, and don’t miss the Bacardi cocktails. The two-day free event goes from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
