Saturday night, on his way home from a Phil Collins-hosted gala at the Fillmore Miami Beach, the venue’s general manager, Brandon Berry, was the victim of a hit-and-run that left him severely injured.
Friends and family hope to find the driver of the black SUV that rammed into Berry’s car, causing him to lose control.
Berry left the Fillmore at 1:45 a.m. and made it to the intersection of I-195 and I-95 northbound at 1:58 a.m. when a black SUV entered the road from the on ramp just north of midtown and rammed into Berry’s car.
Friends say he lost control and was forced into the center divider.

Berry was taken to Ryder Trauma Center with severe injuries. They include 18 broken ribs, two fractured collarbones, broken arms, and a fractured spine. He also sustained lung damage and cannot breath without assistance.
Berry formerly oversaw the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach before becoming general manager of the rebranded Fillmore and helped turn the old Jackie Gleason Theater into a destination for many midsize touring acts. In the past few months alone, the Fillmore has presented Jack White, Tori Amos, Belle & Sebastian, Lily Allen, Interpol, St. Vincent, Erasure, and other acts.
