The 27th edition of the nation’s largest literary hoedown, Miami Book Fair International, will draw hundreds of authors and thousands of bibliophiles to the streets of downtown. With more than 200 exhibitors from across the country selling books in a family-friendly atmosphere, this edition celebrates the culture of China. This year’s invitees include MacArthur Fellow Colson Whitehead, author of The Colossus of New York and Sag Harbor, who will plug Zone One, his postdoomsday stab at horror set in the Big Apple. Ghost World artist and author Daniel Clowes, creator of The Death-Ray, published by Drawn & Quarterly, will arrive as part of the fair’s ongoing commitment to the graphic novel. Also announced on the lineup is filmmaker John Sayles, with his novel, A Moment in the Sun, set in Cuba, the United States, and the Philippines and soon to be published by McSweeney’s.
