The bicyclist who was ran into a motorcycle near the Soyka complex Tuesday night had been drinking, according to police reports.
Pichardo Dearmas, a 52 year-old on a Huffy bicycle, was making a left into a Marathon gas station when he ran into Silvana Wallinger, age 33, who was driving a Yamaha motorcycle northbound on NE 4th Court and 54th Street.
City of Miami Police arrived just after 6:30 p.m. and found both of them badly injured.
Dearmas “had a strong scent of an alcoholic beverage, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech,” according to police reports, and he “violated (Wallinger’s) right of way.”
Miami Fire Rescue rushed them both to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Wallainger had a “fractured skull and a subdural hematoma.” She’s in critical condition. Dearmas, who was cited and charged in the crash, is in stable condition.
