This Sunday, December 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bee Heaven Farm will opens its doors to the public for its Seventh Annual Farm Day.
Bee Heaven Farm took root in 1995 in the Redland. It blossomed, but then got walloped by Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005. They’ve since been on the upswing and are flourishing again.
Owner Margie says, ” Normally the farm is closed to the public, but the Farm Day is the only exception to that. There will be tons of activities like hay rides, farmers’ markets, live music featuring Jennings & Keller, and a few selected food trucks like Dim Ssäm à  Gogo, Baketress, and Real Sorbet..”
The $5 donation (entry) helps support a farm internship program and also gives you a chance to win a Smith & Hawken BioStack Composter. Bee Heaven says, “[Farm Day] is fun for the whole family!” We’ll be there for the eats and to hopefully score a fancy composter.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
