Scottish heartthrob Calvin Harris may be playing Miami Beach on a Wednesday, but the crowd at LIV will surely be dancing like it’s ready for the weekend. An electronic musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, Harris released his first studio album and co-wrote songs with Kylie Minogue in 2007, turned down working with Lady Gaga in 2008, and remixed the likes of Katy Perry, Shakira, and Passion Pit in 2009. His second album of original material, Ready for the Weekend, dropped in August 2009 and reached number one on the UK charts, earning him the moniker “the Caledonian Justin Timberlake.” Celebrating the first anniversary of LIV’s weekly party Dirty Hairy, Harris will perform his alt-punk electronica tunes in conjunction with sets by DJ Burns and resident spinners Ross One, Contra, and Disco Tech.
