Ever since Parrot Jungle Island evolved into Jungle Island, we’ve begun to think less of Toucan Sam and more of the lush tropics and exotic animals when we trek across the MacArthur Causeway. Yes, the attraction is still located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, but only when “Parrot” was dropped from the name did it become clear there’s a whole jungle back there to explore. There’s a 168-foot water slide called “The Hippo,” an albino alligator, and a 20-foot, 2000-pound Crocosaurus. So much to see, so little time, but today we’re gonna check out the Island’s Baby Boom.
We really do love animals, and we can’t resist them when they’re so teeny-tiny and can’t wrap their jaws around our head. We just wanna say “Coochie, coochie, coo” to the twin baby orangutans and baby red kangaroos, and pinch the cheeks of the Vietnamese potbelly piglet. Adult regular admission is $29.95 plus tax; child regular admission is $23.95 plus tax. Parking costs seven bucks.
Starts: Aug. 10. Daily, 2007
