Biscayne Bay, according to Capt. Dave Sutton, is “one of the most pristine pieces of water that happens to be alongside three and a half million people.” And it’s home to the elusive bonefish, which Sutton describes as “a supreme challenge to a real fisherman — they erupt and go blasting off the flat like you threw a ’49 Buick at ’em.” Sounds scary, but you have no need to worry. Learn to cast like a pro at the South Florida Boat Show and maybe you won’t have that problem. Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m. there will be fishing seminars from industry vets, so you can take home some angling knowledge along with your new 40-foot powerboat.

Think your wallet can’t handle a Hummer and a Whaler at the pump? Don’t worry — the boat show will also feature the latest in fuel-saving engines. Ships ahoy at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
