If a weekly party in Miami gets titled Good Clean Fun, you can bet the adjectives are dipped in a vat of irony, especially if that party takes place at Rokbar, where no one need ask the walls to talk — simply show up and don’t close your eyes. But now locals have a better reason to stop by that Collins Avenue den of hedonism, for it has hooked up with the mainland party planners extraordinaire at Poplife to start a new Thursday-night tradition. The party’s mission, according to Poplife’s Barbara Basti, is to showcase up-and-coming DJs, and this Thursday night, the third installment of Good Clean Fun has its best booking yet.
You might not have heard of Chicago’s Million Dollar Mano, but you know his boss, and you don’t get to be M.I.A.’s touring DJ without being a total bad-ass. One thing’s for sure: The dance floor is going to need an un-fun, good cleaning after it’s all over. Doors open at 11 p.m., and there’s no cover. Visit epoplife.com or rokbarmiami.com, and check out Million Dollar Mano’s remix of Bel Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” at myspace.com/milliondollamano.
