This week, Miami’s British pub located in the heart of Little Haiti is hiking up its international cred a tad. Tuesday, local, underpaid globetrotters looking to rock can go on an aural journey to Greece and Canada with Acid Baby Jesus and Hell Shovel at Churchill’s Pub. Take in Hell Shovel’s twangy, lo-fi vocals and garage rock on your visit to Montreal’s underground scene; then stop in Athens to marvel at Acid Baby Jesus’s surf-inspired garage chords with plenty of distortion and hypnotic yet gritty vocals. Along for the ride are your local tour guides: Snakehole’s punkettes will provide Miami’s hardcore stylings, hahahelp!’s side project 90’s Teen will cover the scene’s weirdo noise pop, and Fort Lauderdale’s Honey Train will put trippy on the map for this trip. Get ready to stuff your imaginary fanny packs with explosive sounds, and take some chewing gum in case your ears pop.
