Rookie DJ-producer Tim Berg (AKA Avicii) is only 22 years old. But his resume already reads like that of a seasoned industry heavyweight. In 2008, after topping BBC Radio 1 luminary Pete Tong‘s Fast Trax poll, the Swedish prodigy dropped his breakthrough release “Manman” on Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam label. And almost instantaneously, he was catapulted to the top of the international ranks.
Last year, Avicii went on to collaborate with VIP producers like Tiësto, John Dahlbäck, and Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso, before signing with the highly prestigious EMI label.
His most recent hit, “Bromance,” has also topped the European charts, keeping the crowds hyped throughout his recent tour of Europe and North America, which included appearances at the Electric Daisy and Electric Zoo festivals.
To help kickoff 2011, Avicii will be taking over LIV at the Fontainebleau this Saturday. Expect the South Beach club rats to show up for their mandatory monthly dose of Swedish big-room beats.
