The Pickle’s got one hell of a double booking lined up for Friday night with special guests Âme and Alexkid in the house. Âme (French for “soul”) is the German production duo of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, and as their name suggests, they specialize in the soulful side of house and techno with nods to Detroit and the seasoned homegrown flavor of esteemed deep house labels Sonar Kollektiv and their own Innervisions.
DJ/producer Alexis Mauri a.k.a. Alexkid is a visionary multi-instrumentalist with roots in the Parisian rave scene who got his start on Laurent Garnier’s F Communications imprint in the late ’90s. He has since released on labels like Get Physical, Rekids, and Cadenza and boasts a unique kaleidoscopic sound blending elements of acid, techno, electro and dub. The eclectic pairing of these acclaimed talents should make for quite a memorable Friday night session at the Pickle.
Âme & Alexkid. Electric Pickle. Friday, April 16, 10 p.m.-5 a.m. 2826 N. Miami
