Isiah Thomas is no longer the only NBA legend shuffling around Florida International University. New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire is spending his free time during the NBA lockout attending classes at the school.
“I’m back at school at FIU, studying history and science,” Stoudemire, a native of Lake Wales, Florida, tells Page Six.
It will actually be Stoudemire’s first stint in college. He had committed to attend the University of Memphis, but decided to immediately declare for the draft in order to help financially support his family.
He hasn’t done so badly for himself or his family since. Earlier this year he put his Miami Beach penthouse on the market for $6.5 million.
