Back in April, staff writer Tim Elfrink reported that the crap-tastic economy was leading boat-owners, overburdened by docking and maintenance costs, to abandon ship all over South Florida.
Naturally, we thought he had fabricated the whole thing. But yesterday, we spotted a dilapidated yacht beached on the South shore of the Julia Tuttle Causeway. All identifying markings had apparently been removed- except for script reading “Egg Harbor”, which we’re guessing means she (that’s what people call boats) came from Egg Harbor Yachts in New Jersey.
‘Tis a sad fate. How many days until a clever sex offender moves his shit in? A couple more photos after the jump.
