Dude, today is like Christmukkah for stoners. We already whizzed by High Tide (9814 S. Dixie Highway, Miami; 305-670-6633) and bought a new piece for the occasion. To celebrate, we could rip open a bag of Funyuns and watch that killer nature documentary on the Discovery Channel — it’s all about sharks, bro! But we’re probably gonna head over to Sweat Records (5501 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-758-5862, ext. 5; www.sweatrecordsmiami.com). The Sound in Color Dirty Science Tour is rolling through for an intimate in store event at 6:00 p.m., and some dope underground rappers will be dropping rhymes for free. Then we’ll blaze a fattie and head out to Sofi Lounge (423 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-534-6110; www.jahsurf.com) for a free surf rock concert by the band Hitshow. And you know, every Thursday DJ Lance O is spinning the hottest reggae music. That shit is like Christmas carols on a day like today. Irie! But since we still have the munchies, we’re going to swing by the Sushi House grand opening (15911 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach; 305-947-6002) to sample some tasty sushi and cocktails. (Just don’t forget to RSVP, dude. Call 786-276-6579, or e-mail events@getinkpr.com.) And now that we’re as cashed as that bowl we’ve been hitting all day, it’s time to go home, fill the bong with fresh water, and hit some sticky icky as we watch Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, or Half Baked, or Dazed and Confused.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
