An old proverb says laughter is the best medicine. So if you’re in a February funk — especially with Valentine’s Day mushiness in the air — beat the grief with a night of comedy. In conjunction with the 2012 South Beach Comedy Festival, the Improv is teaming up with Deco Drive to host the SBCF 2012 Decomedian Contest.
While the festival itself is stacked high with familiar faces, Decomedian takes the time to highlight some lesser-known up-and-comers, all vying to win VIP passes to the festival as well as the chance to perform a set at one of its shows. So do whatever it is you do to enjoy an evening of hearty giggles. Whether it’s a few drinks or a dank spliff that gets you in the cackling zone, do the prep work and sit back while the semiprofessionals get to the hysterics. And whether you’re cheering on a local favorite or just rooting for a dose of hilarity, let your inhibitions loose and prepare for a night of delight.
