The artist formerly known as Tity Boi (AKA 2 Chainz) was “riding round [and] gettin’ it” with six of his homies last night on his way to a homecoming show at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore when state police pulled the rapper over on a routine traffic stop.
Unfortunately for Mr. Chainz, though, cops found marijuana in the whip and decided to take the rapper into custody, TMZ reports. Only him.
“UMES we on the way,” 2 Chainz tweeted. “Dam police fuckn wit a nigga, we fina turnUP.”

Charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the Baltimore Sun, the Grammy-nominated rapper was booked at a nearby jail and released shortly after posing for an awkward picture with two of the state’s whitest officers.
“Locked me up and then wanted a picture,” 2 Chainz captioned underneath the picture posted on his Instagram account. “SMH” (Translation: Shaking my head.)
The Baltimore Sun reports that police are “reviewing the circumstances surrounding the photo.”
Though it was later than expected, 2 Chainz did manage to make the show and delivered a performance some folks on Twitter say was “definitely worth the wait.”
2 Chainz was happy to be there also.
Next month, Tity Boi will have to dodge Miami cops on a star-fucking trip when the rapper teams up with the 4/20-friendly Marley family for the 20th annual Nine Mile Music Festival.
If, for whatever reason, 2 Chainz is locked up for pot then, we’ll know that law enforcement is simply out to get him because “[He’s] Different.”
