Move over, cookies and cream. There's a new nutty and chocolatey shake stealing the spotlight, and it's drizzled in internet fame — even going wildly popular across Miami since late 2024. The global chocolate obsession that is the "Dubai Chocolate Bar" filled with pistachio, which started in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has officially reached Shake Shack, and Miami is among the first in the U.S. to get a taste.

Shake Shack locations across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach are serving the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake, a limited-time offering inspired by the pistachio cream and knafeh-stuffed chocolate bars that have taken over TikTok, airport duty-free shops, and dessert counters worldwide. Knafeh is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert made from kataifi, a shredded phyllo pastry soaked in sweet sugar syrup and layered with soft cheese or cream.

The Shake Shack version is a little different.

The shake—available in locations from Mary Brickell Village to Sawgrass Mills—blends pistachio frozen custard with toasted kataifi. The custard is then poured into a plastic cup lined with a crackable dark chocolate shell and topped off with chopped pistachios and more crunchy kataifi. The result? It's a rich, nutty, and textural bomb that clocks in at 1,080 calories and tastes like it belongs in a velvet box, not a paper cup.
@shakeshack You've heard of the bar, but how 'bout the shake? The Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake is on the menu at select international Shacks. Should we bring it stateside? #FYP #ShakeShack #dubaichocolate #dubaichocolatebar ♬ original sound - SHAKE SHACK

What Is Dubai Chocolate?

The inspiration comes from the original "Dubai Chocolate Bar," a viral treat created in 2021 by Fix Dessert Chocolatier in the UAE. Officially named "Can’t Get Knafeh of It," the bar is a hefty milk chocolate slab filled with pistachio cream and gooey knafeh, a beloved Middle Eastern dessert made with shredded phyllo soaked in syrup. After blowing up on TikTok last summer, it sparked dozens of spinoffs, racking up $22 million in sales in the first three months of 2025 alone.

If the flavor sounds familiar, you've probably seen these bars pop up locally, too. Shops like Chocolate On Tap and Icy-N-Spicy have been cashing in on the trend, selling imported versions of the chocolate bar to curious shoppers willing to shell out sometimes up to $20 a pop for a plastic-wrapped bite of internet glory. Depending on the day, they're either fully stocked or completely wiped out.

Following a soft launch at Middle Eastern Shake Shack locations earlier this year, the shake is rolling out in select cities across the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Whether you're a pistachio devotee or just here for the TikTok trend cycle, this shake offers a gateway into the Dubai chocolate craze — no passport required. Local fans can find it at Shake Shack outposts in Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Dadeland Mall, Aventura, the Falls, and Boca Raton.
