Sprung Returns to Coconut Grove: Here's a Discount Code for Tickets

Sprung!, the beer-centric celebration of Spring returns to Coconut Grove's Peacock Park on Saturday, March 8, promising more beer, more games, and more fun than even last year. (Anyone recall the human bowling?)

Organizer Tony Albelo (who also brings Grovetoberfest to Miami each year), tells Short Order that the fact that Sprung is held during spring break is no coincidence. Albelo is on a mission to make craft beers more fun and accessible to everyone, saying "people that aren't familiar with craft beer might see it as elitist and snooty. Beer sipped by only hipsters with curled up mustaches, but nothing is farther from the truth.

"Now more than ever, craft beer is coming to the masses with people demanding more flavor and better ingredients from their beer. At Sprung! we want to highlight the fact that beer is drunk in bars and restaurants by people who not only want to enjoy a good beer, but also their friends and the lifestyle. Beer has been and will always be a social drink and at Sprung we celebrate this."

Well, alright then! Let the party begin! And with over 150 different brews, many of them spring and summer seasonals, plus games and music, Sprung! the remix sounds like a good time to us.

And, for those of you not quite willing to part with their beer-snobbery, FIU will be in the house to educate you on all things brew and the event will feature a "culinary experience" with four chefs schooling you in the art of cooking with beer (toques to be announced at a later date). You'll also be able to get a sneak peek of Concrete Beach Brewery.

General admission tickets for Sprung! are $40 and gets you all the beer sampling you like from 4 - 7 p.m.; Beer Socialite tickets are $70 and include entry from 3 to 7 p.m., a backpack and souvenir pint glass.

Five hundred VIP tickets will be sold at $90, which includes entry into Sprung at 2:30 p.m., a meet and greet with the brewers, access to VIP lounge with specialty beers, complimentary appetizers, and air-conditioned bathroom with attendant. Tickets are available now at igotsprung.com/tickets.

Today, and today only, there's a special going on. Use code INSIDER30 and take $10 off general admission tickets. Code INSIDER50 gets you VIP tickets for only $50 each. Codes are good until 11:59 p.m., so don't delay.
