The spot was founded by California-based Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan, who launched their first San Diego location in 2013 after drawing inspiration from Tijuana's street food scene. Following their successful spots in Wynwood and Little Havana, the Lincoln Road location marks the Taco's Stand's 12th location nationwide.
And the expansion makes sense — the menu spans from morning breakfast tacos all the way to drunken, late-night burritos.
Street Tacos, Churros, Beer, and More
The Taco Stand's menu runs from classics like al pastor tacos loaded with marinated pork and pineapple to Baja fish tacos and nopal (that's cactus) tacos for the plant-based crowd. They're slinging burritos, too. Grab the "Mar y Tierra" loaded with shrimp and steak, or go for the Mexican paletas, beer, and churros straight out of Rosarito.Beyond the classic taco lineup, the spot also offers options like the "Sonora" taco, wrapped in a flour tortilla with Angus beef, melted cheese, beans, guacamole, and salsa. The quesadilla selection includes choices from pollo asado to grilled shrimp, each served with guacamole and sour cream. For early birds, they've got breakfast options ranging from "Huevos a la Mexicana" to "Machaca con Huevos."
SoBe's New Late-Night Fix
The Miami Beach location is prime territory for daytime shoppers and late-night partygoers. Inside, the casual setup mirrors the other Miami locations, with an open kitchen where you can watch the tortillas being pressed fresh daily and nightly. Plus, the spot caters to the late-night crowd, staying open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and until midnight Sunday through Thursday. The expansion comes fresh off the Taco Stand winning Best Tacos in New Times' 2024 Readers' Choice Best of Miami. The restaurant joins Shōwa Hospitality's growing Miami portfolio, which includes Hiden in Wynwood and the recently opened Bistro 8 in Little Havana.
