Last Thursday night, something pretty magical happened at Bayshore Club in Coconut Grove — and no, it wasn't just the beautiful sunset over Biscayne Bay. On June 12 from 6 to 8 p.m., New Times members and editorial staff gathered for an exclusive, members-only happy hour that turned into one of the most fun and unforgettable evenings we've had together in a long time.

In honor of New Times' Top 100 Bars of 2025, and our readers who help keep our local food and drink coverage thriving, we took over the restaurant and bar's outdoor patio green in our own little roped-off oasis, with live music from an awesome band, expertly shaken cocktails, delicious passed bites like lobster rolls and cheesy croquettes, and nothing but good vibes.

The drinks were flowing, the conversation was effortless, and the Miami breeze was doing what it does best.

Plus, it meant the world to finally meet so many of our readers face-to-face. So many members came up to say hi, tell us how much they love our work, and (music to our ears!) say they can't wait for the next event.

Instead of reporting and crafting stories behind the scenes (and screens), New Times' editorial team stepped out and onto the stage — me, our news editor Natasha Yee, our culture editor Celia Almeida, staff writers Naomi Feinstein and Alex DeLuca, and our social media queen Anna Magluta, who helped coordinate the entire evening.

We smiled, we mingled, and we toasted to independent local journalism. And yes, we took pics. Lots of them. (Shoutout to Anna for hiring an amazing photographer!)

To everyone who came: thank you for being part of such a fun night. To those who missed it: don't worry, there's more where that came from! Sign up to become a New Times member to support our work and snag an invite to the next members-only bash. After all, local news should be celebrated — preferably with a cocktail in hand by the bay.
