Mediterranean restaurant Motek just opened in the former Prime Fish space, joining big names like Carbone in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighborhood.

The new location marks Motek's continuous expansion in the city since its first location in downtown Miami opened in 2020. Just four years later, Motek has a total of six locations, including Aventura, Coral Gables, Brickell City Centre, and now two in Miami Beach.

"I'm thrilled to introduce Motek to Miami's iconic South of Fifth neighborhood," says Charlie Levy, owner of Motek. "As a resident myself, I feel this location is incredibly personal. While Miami Beach was always intended to be our second location, permitting issues delayed our plans. However, when Myles Chefetz reached out about the historic Prime Fish space, we knew we couldn't pass up this opportunity."

Its South Pointe location features a 5,000-square-foot interior and a 2,500-square-foot exterior, designed with five distinct dining areas accommodating 150 guests. Highlights include a Shabbat table in the second dining room, seating up to 20 guests, and a patio where guests can be seated beneath a large tree adorned with lanterns and sparkling lights.

As for the menu, the new location is introducing a culinary collaboration with consulting chef Hmodi Okala, known for his appearances on MasterChef Israel and his expertise in Israeli and Arabic cuisine.

Msabbaha Motek is already known for its modern approach to Mediterranean food, and its new location will live up to its name. Signature offerings include the all-day brunch, such as the shakshuka, Israeli breakfast, and Jerusalem grilled cheese. The Kosher-style menu includes roasted eggplant, prime beef, masabacha, and many hot & cold mezzes. Other options are fresh sandwiches and burgers, including the award-winning Arayes Burger, and hearty plates, including the chicken schnitzel, Turkish lamb kebab, and baby lamb chops.

"We aim to do something different with this new location," says Levy. "It will have a unique look and feel, setting the tone for future Motek locations. Our goal is to activate this important area by providing a versatile dining option for our neighbors, whether they're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal."
