Raising Cane's — the cult-favorite chicken finger chain loved by celebs like Post Malone and Benny Blanco — is eyeing Coral Gables for its next crispy conquest.

According to city paperwork, the Louisiana-based brand plans to open at 3600 SW 22nd St., taking over the former Boston Market spot just off Coral Way. That means Raising Cane's signature combos, buttery Texas toast, and jugs of freshly made lemonade are about to join nearby quick-service restaurants, Pizza Hut, KFC, and Pei Wei.

For the uninitiated, Raising Cane's keeps it simple: crispy, hand-battered white meat chicken tenderloins that are marinated for 24 hours, hand-battered, and cooked to order. The menu is also renowned for its secret recipe "Cane's" sauce, served up alongside the brand's crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and fresh-brewed sweet tea or fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Combos range from a classic four-finger "Box Combo" to a three-finger "Sandwich Combo," or a six-finger "Caniac." They all usually include at least one sauce, crinkle-cut fries, a fountain drink, and Texas toast.

Though the recipe for the popular Cane's sauce is under wraps, many have speculated it is a mayonnaise-based sauce with ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings like garlic powder and black pepper. The chain also serves sweet tea brewed throughout the day, creamy coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries, and thick, garlicky Texas toast.

As one of the nation's fastest-growing chains, Raising Cane's was founded in 1996 by Todd Graves — who refers to himself as “founder, CEO, fry cook, and cashier" — at the age of 24 after being told a chicken finger-only restaurant would never fly. Fast forward to today, and there are more than 850 locations across the country, all unapologetically slinging the same golden-fried gospel.

The Coral Gables location joins other Miami-based Raising Cane's outposts in Homestead, Doral, Miami Beach, and Cutler Bay. An opening date has not yet been announced.
