Two Italian pizzerias in Miami have just been ranked among the ten best pizzerias in the U.S. by the prestigious 50 Top Pizza awards for 2025. Yes, you read that right — two Magic City pizzerias cracked the national top ten list, and they did it by staying true to their roots: traditional, blistered, glorious Neapolitan-style pizza, made with love, fire, and imported Italian ingredients.

Founded in 2017 by a team of Italian food and beverage journalists, 50 Top Pizza is an Italian online guide focusing on the best Italian pizzerias worldwide. It annually curates the list of the best pizzerias in Italy, Europe, Asia, and the United States, and is regarded as one of the world's most trusted voices in pizza rankings. It's a massive honor just to make the list, let alone top it. The fact that two Miami pie shops tied for a spot in the top ten proves something locals have known for a while now: our pizza scene is thriving, thanks to passionate artisans who've brought age-old traditions to our subtropical doorstep.

La Leggenda Pizzeria (No. 10 in the U.S.)

Located along Española Way in Miami Beach, La Leggenda Pizzeria is tenth on the publication's list of the top 50 pizza restaurants in the U.S. Napoli-born and raised chef and owner Giovanni Gagliardi, dubbed "La Leggenda" (the Legend) by friends in Italy for his pizzaiolo skills, is making some of the best Neapolitan-style pies in South Florida.

On Tuesday, July 1, he wrote on Instagram, "Top 50 Pizzerias in America. Once again this year, we made it into the top ten! It's a huge honor to be recognized among the best pizzerias in the U.S., but for me, it's also a reminder to keep pushing, improving, and embracing every challenge. I want to dedicate this award to all of you, our amazing and loyal customers — there are so many of you, and I’m truly grateful. A big thank you to my incredible team, and to my wife and business partner, who is always by my side. Challenges don't scare me. See you at the pizzeria — with heart and oven always on."

Gagliardi performs his pizza magic in a small space tucked away near the eastern terminus of Española Way. His domed, wood-fueled oven turns out from-scratch pizzas with crusts that are invariably soft, airy, and perfectly blistered. Don't miss the "Margherita STG," made with mozzarella di bufala campana and fragrant fresh basil.

'O Munaciello (No. 10 in the U.S.)

Coming in tied at no. 10 is 'O Munaciello in the MiMo District, with a second location on Coral Way — and an original location in Florence, Italy, at Via Maffia 31R (so you know this pizzeria is authentic). Voted New Times' Best Upper East Side Restaurant in 2018, O'Munaciello isn't your regular pizza shop.

The eatery offers other fare from Italy's Campania region, but the star of the restaurant is the pizza made by chef Carmine Candito, who grew up working at his family's pizzeria in Naples, Italy. The Neapolitan-style pizzeria offers a variety of unique pies, some infused with activated charcoal to create a black-hued dough. Most are topped with traditional fixings such as mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.
