Miami hospitality mogul Roman Jones is making waves yet again — this time, by diving into a $15 million partnership with the Sanchez family, the legendary Cuban-American family behind Casablanca Seafood Restaurant. If you know Miami, you know Casablanca: it's an iconic spot serving up some of the freshest seafood in town with a side of history. Now, with Jones on board, the restaurant is poised for an exciting new chapter.

Jones, the founder of Miami River hotspots Kiki on the River and Habibi Miami, has long admired Casablanca Seafood Bar & Grill — in fact, he's been a loyal customer for years. "It's an honor to partner in an institution with such deep roots in Miami’s history," says Jones. "Casablanca Seafood isn’t just about incredible food — it's a symbol of resilience and success for the Cuban community. I'm proud to be part of its future while respecting its past."

And Jones is thinking big. He's got plans to take the Casablanca brand national, bringing its famed seafood and authentic Miami flavor to new audiences. But don’t worry — the heart and soul of Casablanca aren’t going anywhere. The Sanchez family, who built the restaurant from the ground up three decades ago, will remain partners, continuing their tradition of serving the best daily fresh catch. Their expertise in commercial fishing, spanning five generations, is what makes Casablanca a true gem.

With the $15 million deal, the neighboring Casablanca Fish Market is moving from its longtime location on North River Drive to Florida Fresh Fisheries on Red Road near Coral Way, just west of Coral Gables. The restaurant on the river, Casablanca Seafood, remains open.

With Jones’s expertise and the Sanchez family’s rich history, Casablanca Seafood is set to remain a Miami staple — only now, with even bigger ambitions. One thing’s for sure: this partnership is about to take Miami’s seafood game to a whole new level.
