Named after owner Michael Stanley’s grandfather, Sunness Supper Club promises American classics with global influences — one of the few exciting openings finally coming to Fort Lauderdale in 2025.
"I wanted to create a space where people can come together to enjoy delicious and high-quality food and drinks with a touch of magic in the air," says Stanley, who brings restaurant experience from previous ventures, including MK Takeaways, a ghost kitchen operation, and Yummy in my Tummy, an organic baby-food company.

Wood-Fired Dishes Meet South Florida Flavors
The menu ranges from starters to wood-fired dishes, mixing American classics with South Florida's multicultural flavors.Appetizers include the "Table Tossed" caesar and wood-fired corn ribs topped with queso fresco and Peruvian verde sauce. A pot of mussels comes steaming in white wine butter sauce, paired with sourdough bread. From the grill, diners can choose charred Angus skirt steak or Florida lobster tail. Braised short ribs come served over mashed new potatoes with honey-glazed carrots. Fish options include maple-crusted salmon with farro, spinach, and a pinot noir nage.
Former Gastrotech and Apothecary 330 bartender Ally Champion heads the bar program. Signature cocktails include the "Tea Time" (Ti' punch, Dillon 40 proof rum, lime, mango) and "Dream Scape," a daiquiri-style drink made with Misguided spiced rum, lime, and pineapple syrup. For those who prefer a strong cocktail, the "Underoath Old Fashioned" combines Misguided whiskey, silver glitter, demerara, black walnut, and orange bitters.

Marble, Free Parking, and a Hidden Bar That’s Coming Soon
The 6,000-square-foot restaurant's entrance sits at the back of the building next to an almost unheard-of 75 free parking spots. Guests walk through a secret passage-like hallway to reach the main dining room, where a U-shaped marble bar topped with wood wine racks anchors the space. The 130-seat interior mixes sage green with neutral tones, alongside wood, marble, leather, and gold accents. Two banquettes near the bar can transform into a private dining area if needed, while the main dining room has a mix of high-tops, half-moon booths, and booths for large groups. Glass cabinets displaying wine bottles divide the bar from the dining room, with a wood-fired oven completing the space. Like other classic supper clubs, Sunness offers live music and performances in its dining room, with plans to add an upstairs speakeasy overlooking the space in 2025.
“Mood, music, and lighting are key, and no detail has been overlooked in the design,” says Stanley. “I want the Sunness Supper Club to be a place where memories are made and good times are had.”
