Miami's Favorite Bakery Is Taking Over The Standard This Fall

One of Miami's most award-winning bakeries, known for flaky croissants and cachitos, has popped up at the Standard this fall.

Miami’s favorite cachitos are heading to the beach. Starting September 4, Café Standard, the lobby café at the Standard Spa Miami Beach, will host a month-long collaboration with Caracas Bakery, the Venezuelan-run bakery that has quickly become one of the city's most talked-about spots.

Every Wednesday in September, guests can expect a curated menu from Caracas alongside Café Standard’s regular offerings. Caracas Bakery is best known for its cachitos — soft, slightly sweet rolls stuffed with ham and cheese — which have developed a cult following among Venezuelan expats and Miami locals alike. From Caracas' signature baked goods, breakfast options, signature sandwiches, and toasts to tequenos, croissants, and the pan con tomate, fans of Caracas Bakery who no longer have to make the trek to Coral Gables or MiMo are in for a treat.

An Award-Winning Bakery Now in SoBe

The bakery's reach has extended far beyond its homeland classics. In December 2024, the New York Times named Caracas one of the 22 best bakeries in the United States, the only Miami bakery to make the cut. Earlier that year, co-founders Jesús Brazon and his father, Manuel, were finalists for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker.

The family-run bakery, which began in 2019 in Doral before expanding to Biscayne Boulevard and Coral Gables, blends French technique with Latin American flavors. Scarlet Rojas, Jesús' mother, is said to be the mastermind behind the famous cachitos. The bakery's reputation has grown to the point where even Joe Jonas is a fan — he once surprised fans by serving coffee and pastries at the Biscayne location. Now, Miami Beach locals and visitors can get a taste without leaving the island.

The Standard Just Became a Foodie Paradise

The Café Standard collab brings Caracas Bakery's specialties into one of the city's most recognizable hotels, just steps from the Venetian Causeway and the property’s iconic pool. While the Standard hasn't released the full lineup, expect cachitos and other Venezuelan-inflected goods to share space with the café’s usual menu.

The collaboration isn’t the only bakery news at the Standard. Café Standard also stocks baked goods from Ficelle, the French-style bakery recently crowned for having the best baguette in Miami. With two powerhouse bakeries rotating through its café, the Standard is positioning itself as more than just a place for a poolside spritz. For fans of Caracas Bakery, the month-long residency is a chance to grab their favorite pastries without trekking across the causeway — but only on Wednesdays.

Caracas Bakery at the Standard is open every Wednesday in September from 7 am to 5 pm., while its usual bakery, Café Standard, is open every other day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
