If you got a dollar every time you spotted a new juice bar in Miami, you’d probably be able to open your own. Well, not really, but you get the point.
Aventura’s latest juice bar Raw Republic (20804 Biscayne Blvd.) is one of many that have popped up in the last year, catering to those looking for a quick, nutritious fix or maybe are just in the mood to try something new.
But this juice bar isn’t exactly like all the rest. It is family-owned, produces homemade product, and serves nothing but raw ingredients.
From Acai bowls ($12) to Pitaya bowls ($12) to juices ($7-$12) and smoothies ($9), this Republic is proof that combining various raw ingredients can be not only healthy, but also extremely delicious.
For first-time juicers, Raw Republic recommends Sunshine juice, made with fresh apple, orange, pineapple and lemon. If you’re looking for something a bit more substantial, the juicery recommends the PB&A bowl with acai, banana, almond milk and organic peanut butter. Or try the Pretty in Pink bowl with pitaya, coconut water and banana.
“Not just those bowls, but all of our bowls are really different and delicious,” boasts co-founder/co-owner Jesse Gimelstein. “But those are just some of our best-seller items that people tend to love.”
If nothing on the menu gets your taste buds going, the juicery is open to any and all special requests for smoothies and bowls. While juices aren’t customizable, there are 12 different combinations to choose from with fruits and vegetables ranging from apples, bananas, kale, spinach, ginger and parsley.
The juice bar also offers juice cleanses — something that has become a phenomenon for people looking for a quick detox or an easy way to shed a few extra pounds.
“We’ve seen great success with our juice cleanses,” says Jesse Gimelstein. “People do it anywhere from one day to 30 days. It just depends on the person and their goal.”
To create their signature juices, Raw Republic prides itself on using a cold pressed hydraulic machine to ensure nutrients aren’t compromised during the juicing process.

SHOW ME HOW
To put it in layman's terms, Jesse explained that instead of using a “normal blender” or centrifugal juicer that uses heat to squeeze out the juice, a hydraulic press applies thousands of pounds of pressure to squeeze every last bit of juice and nutrient that comes with it.
Jesse, along with his cousins, Jordan and Zack, make up the backbone of Raw Republic. As Jesse handles day-to-day operations, Zack deals with customer relations and Jordan manages the marketing side — it’s safe to say this juice bar is the epitome of a family establishment.
Together the Gimelsteins believe in what they like to call a “raw lifestyle.” So if you're up for the challenge, make a change and live life the "raw" way by joining Aventura's newest republic.
