Just a few weeks after a Florida woman filed a lawsuit against Publix Super Market claiming that the supermarket giant uses self-checkout scales to inflate the weight of meats and cheese, jacking up prices and negating advertised discounts, Miamians have a bone to pick with the store.

This past week, a Reddit user in the r/Miami community posted a photo of multiple bricks of classic Café Bustelo ground espresso coffee at a Publix in Miami — but at a price they had never seen before at the supermarket. Beneath the coffee, you can see a sticker that reads, "$11.19" for a single carton. The Reddit user writes, "Oh hell naw, Publix gotta chill tf out lmao."

The $11 Café Bustelo in question is of the 16-ounce variety. It's important to note that this exact variety is being sold at Walmart for $7.44 and at Target for $7.89. Therefore, you can only imagine Reddit users were shaken to their core.

The Reddit community quickly responded. User muddybunnyhugger commented, "What? Like, wasn't that shit $3.50 before. Maybe the smaller one next to it." Another user, eddymiami93, replied, "The smaller version is like 7 dollars it's crazy." Others suggested alternatives, with Brad_Beat noting, "Might as well buy Illy for that price, far better coffee as well."

As New Times readers are well aware, this isn't the first time Publix has faced criticism over pricing. New Times just reported on Florida shoppers lamenting grocery price increases and inflation at Publix (especially during this year's egg crisis).
