What do you get when you cross ropa vieja and sex toys? You get this sign on Biscayne Boulevard at 115th Street next to Three Palms Cuban Cafe. The friendly, airy joint is next door to a sex toy shop. To Short Order, this just might be the perfect combo.
If you look closer, the strip mall consists of Three Palms Cuban Cafe
and a sex shop, and the sign is actually divided into two separate ones –
one reads “Sexy Shop” and the other “Cuban Cafe”.
An undisclosed
employee at Three Palms said that in his six to seven months working
there, no one has ever gotten confused by the sign. He told Short Order
that it’s a completely separate sign, and therefore no one should be
misled. I was, and that’s why I stopped over to take these pictures. A
word of constructive criticism: you might want to separate the two signs a lot more, or
at least put “Three Palms” in front of “Cuban Cafe.”
