Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Want to know what it takes to cover the grimiest political landscape in America? Then join us at the Brickell Hampton Inn tomorrow morning. Banana Republican will be answering questions about Miami politics alongside bloggers Al Crespo (The Crespogram Report), Elaine de Valle (Political Cortadito) and Mike Hatami (The Straw Buyer). It’s an opportunity for political junkies and average citizens to learn how we go about afflicting the comfortable, raking through the muck, and exposing evil in the bowels of local government in Miami-Dade County.
Billed as the “The Lowdown on Politics in Miami: As Seen From the Blogosphere,” the event was organized by the New Miami Forum, a group run by Miami publicist Seth Gordon, whose aim to educate the public how “dogged individuals working in the unstructured blogosphere seek to fill the information void.”
Sounds like fun! Breakfast will be served too.
Email Gordon’s assistant at laura@gdbmiami.com to reserve your spot. Panel begins at 9 a.m. The Hampton Inn is located at 50 SW 12th Street.
