Naked Politics reports that out of all candidates for the state house, Jose “Pepi” Diaz has raised the most money so far. Which is not only shocking because Diaz is not an incumbent, but also because he’s a reality TV show wash out.
Diaz appeared on Season 5 of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice, and after a poor showing as team leader in the second episode (his team got whomped thoroughly) was fired in a SHOCKING double elimination. As Wikipedia’s entry on the season states, “Pepi is fired for not leading the team correctly, not being able to get
his team out to a good start, and for losing the respect of the entire
team after not knowing how to handle the Stacy-Brent conflict.”
Seems like he might have polished up his leadership skills since then.
He’s running to fill the Miami area seat of term-limited J.C. Planas (who, you may remember, had his own brush with reality television, by performing at MGM’s studios “American Idol Live” attraction).
